History of ISSA Residential

2003

Entrepreneur and cleaning company owner Perry Phillips starts ARCP, The Association of Residential Cleaning Professionals.

 

ARCP forms alliance with ISSA.

2004

David Kiser, Champagne Services, Sterling VA, elected first association President. First ARCP National Convention is held in New Orleans.

2005

Board of Directors holds first Strategic Planning meeting to discuss the future of the residential cleaning industry and the association.

2006

Kenya Montalvan, Maid to Clean, Alexandria, VA, named the first “Professional Cleaner of the Year” Association changes name to ARCSI, Association of Residential Cleaning Services International. Tom Stewart, Castle Keepers, Charleston, SC elected first ARCSI President.

 

Sister non-profit Cleaning for a Reason is founded by Debbie Sardone and ARCSI members begin providing free house cleaning for women undergoing cancer treatments.

2007

ARCSI Membership tops 300. Debbie Sardone, Buckets & Bows, Lewisville, TX elected first ARCSI female President.

2008

ARCSI Annual Convention in Las Vegas sets attendance record. Alison Palmer, Custom Maid, Virginia Beach, VA elected President.

2009

ARCSI hires first professional association executive, Ernie Hartong and moves world headquarters to Columbus, OH.

2010

ARCSI establishes the Residential Cleaning Seal of Excellence, holding members to a higher standard of expertise and criteria. Alonzo Adams, Busy Bee Cleaning, West Chester, PA elected President.

2011-12

IICRC approves House Cleaning Technician certification and first class is held in Dallas TX. Daron Tandberg, White Glove Cleaning Services, Yakima, WA elected President.

 

2013

Chicago convention sets new attendance record.

2014

Certified House Cleaning Technicians top 300. ARCSI launches 2nd Decade Consumer Awareness campaign. ARCSI “Summer Success Tour” regional meetings brings educational programs to six cities. Alison Palmer, Custom Maid, Virginia Beach, VA elected President.

2015

ARCSI launches new consumer oriented website. Jeff Lange, McMaid Home Services, Rolling Meadows, IL elected President.

2017

On January 1, 2017, the Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI) officially merged with ISSA and became the residential cleaning arm of the largest association in the world representing the cleaning industry. RJ Patel, owner of pct in Kennesaw, GA, serves as chair for the newly formed ISSA Residential Cleaning Council.

2019

Alonzo Adams selected as chair of the ISSA Residential Cleaning Council.

2021

Jeannie Henderson selected as chair of the ISSA Residential Cleaning Council.

2023

ARCSI, a division of ISSA rebranded to ISSA Residential.
